Ringer Reef is a small vineyard and winery near Porepunkah in the Alpine Valleys region of Victoria. The annual cycle of seasons is clearly expressed in its ever changing views of the Buckland Valley and the imposing Mount Buffalo.

'Ringer Reef' was the name given to the gold mine owned by Merry and Hooper, the original title holders of the property, in the early 1890's. The gold rush played an important role in the Valley's history, bringing with it not only wealth but also people rich in culture and diversity.

The Ringer Reef vineyard is known locally for its Merlot grapes planted up on the hill over looking Porepunkah. With a softer style than other red grape varieties, Merlot's attractiveness lies in its subtleties. Ringer Reef aims to develop a style of wine that reflects full-flavoured quality fruit, integrated oak with soft acid and silky tannins.

A focus on the important things… Ringer Reef appreciates that wine is a wonderful form of expression: from natural influences of soil composition, growth of the vine and the effects of the elements, to the personal feelings associated with the labour of harvest, the joy of sharing a bottle and, importantly, passion for the taste of wine itself.

Through our wines, we offer you an annual expression of the Alpine Valleys.
